I'm slightly obsessed with perfecting my skin routine and I am not ashamed. The base of fabulous makeup is good skin. I mean the secret to looking lovely without makeup is good skincare and drinking water. I usually purchase my skincare products from the drugstore and T.J Maxx. However, my former roommate/little sis pushed me to look into some natural skincare lines. The first and only natural skincare line I've tried is NOLASKINSENTIALS. NOLASKINSENTIALS is a cruelty-free natural skincare line. I purchased the Clarifying Face Wash and the Botanical Oil. Now, I ended up not liking the face wash because I felt like it was creating more bumps on my face while also managing to dry it out. However, the Botanical Oil was magnificent. It really made a difference in the texture of my skin and faded several dark spots I had.
So naturally, I started looking into other natural skincare brands. Now, I had known about Bahi Cosmetics before but I wasn't focused on their skincare products, it was more so makeup I wanted. After contemplating for a while, I ordered five items from Ayele & Co. I purchased the Monster's Lullaby Face Wash, the Grapefruit Astringent, the Glowing Skin Essence, the Glow Mask, and the Sunflower Sweets Serum. It took about 10 days for my order to process and ship to me. That was normal for me because I do live in California and it shipped from Georgia. I did order with FedEx because it was the recommended option. My new skincare routine arrived in a printed pink box that had pineapples all over it. I knew immediately they had their shit together. HA.
LET'S. TALK. ABOUT. IT.
Monster's Lullaby Face Wash
Now, I have combination oily skin for reference and this did a whole lot of nothing. I used it faithfully for about 10 days before pushing it to the side for my old faithful facial cleansers (Cetaphil & Dr.Bronner's Pure Castile Soap). The soap is discontinued on the Ayele & Co so don't worry about going to look for it. I'm not sure why it didn't work for me as it was advertised for oily Skin but who cares. I know myself and I know this cleanser will be my backup cleanser if I run out of my favorites.
So at the time, I was buying all of these products, I had a pimple the size of a baby fist on my chin, SWEAR TA GOD. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it because none of my usual methods were working so now you know I'm getting highly pissed (even my Sea Breeze Astringent did not work, DO YOU KNOW HOW STRONG THAT SHIT IS?!?!). Anyway, this has a strange smell and I don't think it did much of anything either BUT I will be honest and say that I did not stop using my favorite toner in favor of this one. I think I know how I'm going to use it in the future though. I'll probably use this as a toner in the morning when I wash my face.
They might of just did something...Now, I don't have a "go-to" exfoliator. I was using the Fresh Beauty Sugar Face Polish for a minute but I am cheap and I wasn't buying it again. So, the instructions for this want you apply a thin layer, let it dry for 5-8 minutes and then scrub your face. I've used this 4 times and my skin look alive, no Blocboy. I look like I am glowing. This was absolutely my stand out product.
This is cute. This is an essence that is designed to a lot of things mainly refine the appearance of pores, smooth skin texture, boost skin healthy tone, and provides 24-hour moisture to name a few. I use it in the morning before applying my makeup or on the weekends when I only clean my face and tone. I do believe it is hydrating. I would recommend it if you have dry skin and it smells good!
Out of all Ayele & Co products, this the most hyped product on the site. My friend used it when we lived together and her face looked bomb so I had to try it. The bottle says to use this after toning and before you moisturize IF you are going to use it as a serum. I don't like it as serum though. I'm not sure if my face is just used to my botanical oil but I honestly use this "serum" as a moisturizer. I think it works better that way for my skin and it amazes me that I can apply this before applying my makeup and it seeps right into my skin. It does not sit on your skin at all. If you are big on smells, this smells very...natural so you may or may not like it.
Final verdict, I like Ayele&Co. I don't regret purchasing any of these products because none of them were trash. Obviously, some worked better than others but skincare is about trial and error duh. I would definitely recommend the last three items I listed if you are new to the brand and want to try something.
