I am so tired of the harsh critique and mistreatment of our ICON Serena Williams. Quite frankly, y'all have the game fucked up.
So if you didn't know, The Tennis Anti-Doping Program is an international, comprehensive, and extensive drug-testing program that applies to all players competing at tournaments sanctioned by the ITF, ATP and the WTA. They claim the program is designed to maintain the integrity of tennis and protect the health/rights of all tennis players. Cute. Serena recently stated on Twitter that she's been getting drug tested via this Anti-Doping program twice as more as her competitors. I believe it. Serena has no reason to sit up here and make up lies about getting harassed. The drug test administrators randomly show up at her home unannounced all the time where she is raising her newborn. Who does that? The tweet is below:
The root of the issue is that ever since Serena and Venus burst onto the tennis scene, they have kicked ass and it makes people mad.
These special black girls who turned into strong black women are dominant and THEY RESENT IT.
You would think that people would learn to accept how things are instead of trying to justify and disprove talent but sadly no. In life, people will do everything in your power to downplay your gifts and tell you that you aren't as great as you think you are. Why? because they want that dominance, that magic for themselves. News flash lil bitch, it doesn't work like that. You can't have it. You are not built that way and that's okay. Be the best you that you can be but don't discredit someone else (who blatantly better than you btw).
Oh, and then the other thing that pissed me off about the treatment of my sis Serena is the banning of her newly designed bodysuit. Serena walked onto the court in a full-length bodysuit with a red waistband at the 2018 French Open. The suit was designed with special materials to stop blood clots from forming. Serena almost died right after giving birth to her daughter because a large blood clot had formed in her body. She says that the suit was paying homage to all women who have experienced traumatic pregnancies. THE NEXT DAMN DAY the French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli was quoted saying her she was banned from wearing the suit again in a magazine. It was "d-i-s-r-e-s-p-e-c-t-f-u-l to the game." Yeah okay, Bernard.
The media started saying she looked like a superhero (which she did) and they started hating. The whole thing just made me so angry and reminded me of all the times they have repeatedly drug tested her, called her a man, accused her of using drugs, or called her all types of animals. People hate this woman. It's sad. It hurts my heart as a black woman but what doesn't hurt my heart is that Serena powers through and continues to power through it all. To remain gracious and act with poise. She chooses to spread light and love. I love that.
Serena is a superhero to me. The world will continue to give her shit and he will continue to rise. Suck all 23 of her Grand Slam titles and 4 of her Olympic Gold Medals. Have a blessed day.
